SIM can't monitor drive status with iLo-3
Hello,
I am new to SIM, and I am having many problems with the software.
I am trying to monitor a couple of DL360 G7 servers and don't appear to get any events in SIM. Additionally, I have noticed that iLo version 3 standard edition doesn't seem to be getting a status on the hard drives. The two drives are in a RAID array, if I pull one of them, there doesn't appear to be any notification in ilo, or in SIM.
Any suggestions?

Re: SIM can't monitor drive status with iLo-3
Hi,
Disk failures cannot be detected by the ILO...
The (broken) hard disk event will be send through SNMP and the hardware status polling task of HP SIM...
So check first that your Systems Management Homepage on the to be managed server if functioning fine, discover the server with HP SIM, implement the trust relationship by importing the certificate of HP SIM in the Security pages of the Systems Management Homepage, and finally see also under SNMP that it sends SNMP traps towards your HP SIM server...
Works fine for all my +500 servers...
Kr,
Bart
