I installed HP systems Insight Manager off the release 7.10 CD on a Windows 2000server with dual P3 CPU's and 1 GB of RAM. It installed fine and I chose the defaults (installing MSDE, the Java engine, etc.) I rebooted the server and double-clicked on the icon to run the program. After the SSL certificate warning I proceed and my IE browser says on the bottom that an applet has been started but the web page displays "Please wait. Checking for Java Plug-in" and goes no further. I checked the services and they are running.
How can I get this to start up? Any ideas?

Solution
Microsoft released a security vulnerability patch to Internet Explorer (MS04-025, documented in Knowledge Base article KB867801) that changed the behavior of how IE treats scripting and binary objects. This creates an issue with HP Systems Insight Manager with the symptom being the apparent â hangâ of the browser prior to the login prompts for credentials. Full releases and updates that address this issue are now available for all versions of HP Systems Insight Manager 4.0 and HP Systems Insight Manager 4.1, and can be obtained from the download page.
