SNMP Traps from ILO 4 reporting server serial instead of ILO Hostname

Hi,

I configured the correct hostname on my Proliant DL465c Gen 8's ILOS (XXXXX-ILO.domain.local) and when I send SNMP trap tests to my HP SIM (version 7.3.0, Windows 2012)  it gives its serial number as the hostname:

CZXXXXXXXX: (SNMP) Generic trap (11003): HPSIM Alert

And when I look to all systems on HP SIM I see the correct ILO's hostname for old ILO generation (V3, gen7) but I see the serial number for latestet generation.

I checked that when I connect to the server, I see the correct hostname on the login prompt page and also when I login through SSH on the ILO.

Is there any possibility to fix that?

Thanks for your help.

Re: SNMP Traps from ILO 4 reporting server serial instead of ILO Hostname

Hello there,

If you logon to your ILO and look under Administrator and click on the Management link look for the SNMP Alerts field.

Here you can select the Trap Source Identifier, did you select the OS Hostname ?

Kind reagards,

Andrew

Kind regards,
