System Insight manager and SMS / Pager
"Sorry posted this initially in the wrong forum"
I would like to configure SIM to send alerts via SMS. Problem is that none of the telecom providers in the Netherlands support the TAP protocol anymore used by SIM. I have a 3rd party application that is able to send sms messages to my provider.
The problem I have now is that I need to find a way to have SIM send the page to a txt or ASCI file. How would the custom look like? Does anyone have created a batch file which will capture/pipe the page to a text file or have any idea how to do this?

Re: System Insight manager and SMS / Pager
Hi,
I don't have a solution for your problem but I do know another way to achieve what you are looking for.
KPN offers an excellent email to SMS gateway service. If you go to www.kpn.com and search for email gateway you'll be directed to the page where they describe the service. I have been using it for some weeks now and I must say it works like a breeze.

Re: System Insight manager and SMS / Pager
We looked into this option but it does not provide any security or spam filtering options. There is no way to prevent anyone from sending messages to the mobilenumer@kpn.com email address. KPN does not offer any options like only accepting messages from one domain or ipaddress. Due to the lack of any options this is the main reason why this is not suitable for our organisation.
Thx anyway for the response :-)
