System Management Homepage and rILO issue

We are having a strange issue with the System Management Homepage. We recently upgraded all of our remote site servers with PSP 8.10 (8.11 has no fixes listed for this issue). This update removed the rILO boards from the System Management Homepage. You can still contact them directly by IP but the Management Agents report no management board present.

Has anyone seen this or does anyone have any troubleshooting steps I can attempt in order to solve this issue?

Below is our server info. We have cold booted as well (circuit breaker popped, D'OH!).

ML350G3 - Latest firmware for both systemboard and rILO.
HPSIM 5.2.2
PSP 8.10
Windows 2003 Standard with SP1

Thanks!

Re: System Management Homepage and rILO issue

Have you checked in the HP Management Agents GUI that the Remote Insight Agent is active?

If this has been removed from the active list you will not see the remote insight info.

Also are you using SNMP or WBEM, PSP 8 introduced WBEM as the default - you may want to try going back to SNMP if you haven't already.

Re: System Management Homepage and rILO issue

Thanks for the reply, Rob!

The System Management Homepage shows no management processor. I can see driver version 3.6.0.0 loaded and the HP Lights-Out Online Configuration Utility at 1.8.0.1.

Please define GUI. I am making an assumption you mean the System Management Homepage but I could definitely be wrong being a little new to all this.

We are using SNMP only right now. All the destinations and permissions are set to be identical to a server that actually works.

Thanks again, Rob!

Re: System Management Homepage and rILO issue

On the server from Control Panel you can access the HP Management Agents GUI.
This allows you to add / remove some of the sub-agents. You can also set the monitoring of service here and there's a pretty handy trap send utility.

Re: System Management Homepage and rILO issue

That was EXACTLY the little tidbit of information I needed to fix the issue!

Thanks a TON, Rob!

10 points and worth every one of them!
