It's sometimes preferable to install the entire PSP, you can do that by running the setup.exe included in the PSP and point it at the server.
SNMP needs the HPSIM Server added as an allowed host with a suitable community name, teh HPSIM Server should also be in the Trap destination.

SolutionUnder Traps you'll need a community name, that depends on what you've configured in HPSIM, default would be public, also you need to enter the IP Address / Name of the HPSIM Server as a Trap Destination.
Under Security enter the community names, at least a Read Only and in the Allowed Hosts you need to have Localhost and the IP Address / Name of the HPSIM Server.
To test run discovery and to test snmp traps going to the HPSIM Server go to Control Panel -> HP Management Agents GUI and use the SNMP Trap Send button, that should generate a Major Event.
