System name doesn't show in discovery
I am running a discovery utilizing a hosts file.
Most of the machines are discovered correctly bout 8 of them come up with the IP address instead of the host name.
Is there anyway to correct this?

Re: System name doesn't show in discovery
Are you sure your HOSTS file is setup correctly for those eight servers? Try pinging by name form your SIM server.
Do any of these servers have an underscore in their names?
Were the IP based systems discovered BEFORE you added the HOSTS file?
"Adding the systems using the Hosts file utility does not replace systems in the database. For example, if a system listed in the Hosts file has the same IP address as an existing system, the duplicate is ignored. Any systems that previously existed in the database are not modified.
"
You can import Hosts files from the following sources:
1) The HP Systems Insight Manager database, which imports the system data, creates a Hosts file, and sorts the data types according to your selection
2) Another system that has an existing Hosts file.
Good luck.
