Since I am getting an error message, there seems to be a problem with the management client. Any thoughts ?
Thanks,
Sean Patzer, MCSE.

Re: There is no System Management Home Page for <Server>
You can try browsing directly to the servers, e.g. https://server:2381 - what does that do?
If you're getting the error above from the HPSIM links it would suggest an issue with discovery, you could check that the global snmp or other characteristics have not changed.
Also from HPSIM, if you click on the server name and open up the product description you should see what protocols have been discovered.

Re: There is no System Management Home Page for <Server>
Thanks for the quick reply. It does not matter whether one goes directly through the link in the HP SIM console or goes to the server directly. You still get the same response.
Interestingly enough the properties page gives me a WBEM error. Now I need to find out what is going on thier.
Thanks,
Sean Patzer, MCSE.

Re: There is no System Management Home Page for <Server>
So this was working okay and then just stopped for a number of servers/
From what you've said regarding direct access that rules out an HPSIM issue.
That kind of leaves either a mass deployment of some software or a Network change issue.
What happens if you browse directly to the SMH from the client server itself?
If that fails then it would suggest some kind of software change. Check services and event logs etc, try restarting the SMH.
Otherwise could it be a firewall issue?

Re: There is no System Management Home Page for <Server>
Not a firewall issue. I have already asked our network analyst who deals with our Cisco gear. She said that she did not change any of the ACLs on the Cisco equiptment nor did she implement anything new over the weekend.
I did manage to get one of the servers back by reinstalling the client, but I do not look forward to manually reinstalling 169 more servers. (Ah, well job security that I do not need at the moment).

Thanks, I will try that and let you know.

Re: There is no System Management Home Page for <Server>
We did recently complete the latest round of Microsoft patches, but if that were the case I would expect to see many similar issues like this one. Therefore I do not suspect that. Patch deployment was the latest network wide software change.
Thanks,

SolutionThere does seem to be an issue with the 7.50 agents, especially if you change the sub-agents that are running and then restart them. But you tend to get timeouts of the SMH Page and the final page when it is displayed is missing some elements, but it does come back.

Re: There is no System Management Home Page for <Server>
Okay, updated the PSP to version 7.60 A and a bunch of drivers on a single server. Services came back up! (YEA!). However, I am having an issue with VCA. The webpage will not display and claims a time out issue with the proxy.
Thanks,
Sean Patzer, MCSE.

Re: There is no System Management Home Page for <Server>
What I have seen is the after the PSP has been installed the reboot doesn't happen and the main result is that it looks like the VCA has not been updated.
