Hi,
I have a server (Integrity rx8620 running Linux). If I test the monitoring (SIM 5) for this system by unplugging a network cable and a fibre channel HBA cable these events are not shown in SIM.
By running tcpdump on the system und SIM server I can see that the SNMP traps are sent from the rx8620 and arrive on the SIM server.
The MIBs are registered in SIM. Checked with "mxmib -t cpqnic.mib" and "mxmib -t cpqfca.mib". The Traps "cpqFca3HostCntlrStatusChange", "cpqNicConnectivityLost" and "cpqNicConnectivityRestored" are there.
Can anybody give me a hint what the solution to this problem could be?

Solution
If you just click on the server name and select the Events tab, are there any events listed at all for this server?
There should be at least a discovery?
Perhaps the traps are turning up as informational.
You could also try enabling HPSIM to accept Unregistered traps just to see if it made a difference.

Re: Trap doesn't show in events.
The server shows events. Just not the ones I need for the HBA or NIC connectivity. I see the entry from discovery. The trap from SNMP daemon if restarted (coldStart) is also shown.
The option to accept unregistered traps was already activated.
I did a test on another Integrity system (rx1620) with the network cable. For this system the traps (cpqNicConnectivityLost, cpqNicConnectivityRestored) are shown as events.
