Unmanaged Servers

Some of my servers are showing up as "unmanaged." I have checked SNMP settings, etc.... but they keep showing up the same. I have compared the unmanaged servers with like servers, and all settings appear to be the same. Any ideas?

Re: Unmanaged Servers

If SNMP is correct then this should work.

Is anything likely to block SNMP?

If they're W2003 Servers check that Accept Hosts has been correctly filled out (localhost plus HPSIM Server) or change to Allow All Hosts which was the W2000 default.

SNMP Community names are case sensitive.

I am having the exact same problem. Some work, some don't. Exact same settings in SNMP.

Re: Unmanaged Servers

SNMP works here on all Servers.
So, the same checks need to be redone.

Community names are case-sensitive.

W2003 restricts SNMP access to specified hosts by default, W2000 does not.

What else can block SNMP Traffic in your network?
Something somewhere is different you'll need to identify what.
