Upgrading to 4.1 from IM 7 SP2.3

I have my sql database on another server, when I upgrade and get to the database config and I put in the name of the database server it says

HP Systems insightmanager was unable to create the database caused either by not enough disk space, or insufficent user credentials?

There is plenty of disk space and my credentials are fine
