Using Exchange to send Pages - Failed
I am trying to send a page via e-mail to my Pager Provider through my Exchange 5.5 server.
The following is the response:
Sending failed; Invalid Address; 550 Relaying is prohibited: (1234567890@pagercompany.com)
The account that I am using has permissions to send Internet mail.

Re: Using Exchange to send Pages - Failed
Does anyone know how to setup paging without a modem installed in the server?
I have the CMS send me e-mail but get a 550 Relaying error when trying to send a page.

Re: Using Exchange to send Pages - Failed
The account has nothing to do with this problem. HPSim uses anonymous SMTP for the email messaging. Your MSExchange server is configured to not allow relaying of anonymous SMTP traffic. This is normally done to block the use of the server by spammers who spoof addresses. You are able to receive the email directly since the email is not relayed, but received into your mailbox.
If you want to send pager notifications via MSExchange to an external paging recipient, ask your MSExchange administrator to allow relaying.
Good Luck!
