VCRM won't find newest ILO2 firmware in inventory

I've got a small problem with VCRM on SIM 5.1 SP1, it won't show the latest firmware for ILO2 boards, v 1.35 (english) in the inventory.

I know the file is present on disk, since I got several download errors in the log about it and downloaded it manually, and tested running it so it wouldn't be corrupt, but even after doing a manual refresh of the VCRM catalog the item won't show in the inventory.

Additionally, the v 1.35 (japanese) version of ILO2 firmware does show up in the catalog on the VCRM but does not show up on the servers VCA.

So all my servers with ILO2 boards will show a status of "green" when running v.1.30 or "yellow" if older, those machines that have 1.35 firmware version will also show green. Why is VCRM (or is it VCA) not showing the most recent version of ILO2 firmware and does anyone know any workaround so you could find them to be able to patch them if required ?

I'd first check if there was a .mnf file created for the 1.35 ilo .exe. That might narrow down where the issue lies.

Yes, that's one of the confusing things to me, for all other exe's an mnf gets created either when the file is dropped into the repository or upon running a manual update of the repository, but for the ILO2 1.35 exe no .mnf is created either automatically or upon manual rescan.

I've run into the same issue with v.1.35 - the .mnf file does not get created. Looks like it's a bug. There is a new version of the ILO 2 Online Firmware 1.42 that should fix the issue - it's posted on the HP site.

Great, thanks a lot. I had missed that new version and even more annoying is that I just had tried to download updates from HP via SIM with no success.

Funny that the new 1.42 changelog does not state anything about any fix for SIM VCRM, but the .mnf got created the second I dropped the file into the repository so it should probably work a lot better, now I'll just have to test it out on some actual boards too :)

Edit: I just noticed one more item, the new 1.42 firmware only shows as valid for Windows 2003 (all versions), not for Windows 2000 for some reason. This would be strange since it's a firmware release not an OS driver or software ?
