Win2003 servers not visible on insight mgr

Hi ,

A bit inexperienced at this so please excuse if missing anything obvious.
Have just installed 2 * Win2003 ML370 G4's and 2 * Win2003 DL 360 G4's both with full insight mgr agents.
I have both an Insight Mgr 7 and a HP SIM 4.2 SP 2 installation on my network , updated with the latest Proliant Win2003 mibs but neither is picking up these servers at all not even as unknown objects. They pick up all my other servers no problem. I do not have Win2003 sp1 on yet and there is no firewall sw installed on them. They are on the same LAN as the manager boxes.

Any help would be much appreciated ...

Look at SNMP, the default behavior changed between from W2000 to W2003. SNMP was Allow All Hosts by default, this changed to allow Selected Hosts only.

SNMP needs to be set to allow;
Localhost
HPSIM Server

Hi,

Win2k3 Security SNMP settings by default accept only LOCALHOST SNMP request. You need to add the IP address of your HP SIM or Insight Manager from SNMP Service Properties --> Security-->Accept SNMP Packets from these Hosts.
