Carte controleur HP P420
Bonjour,

Hello,
I got an HP P420 1G controller card and I want to install it on an ASUS Z97A motherboard.
On startup, it is recognized and initialized, but then the screen remains black and the computer does not continue to boot.
I have no battery. Is this essential for the operation of the card?
Thank you for your answers.

Re: Carte controleur HP P420
Hi,
You are testing this P420 controller on a non-HPE server, so cant help much.
Controller should work without Battery and Cache module.

I can only suggest you to update the Controller Firmware to the latest and then test.
You may also try to update the ASUS motherboard BIOS.
Thanks
I work at HPE

Re: Carte controleur HP P420
Bonjour,

Hello,
Thank you for your reply.
I installed on another computer an hp p410 card without experiencing any difficulty, I assumed that it happens in the same way for the p420.
However, I managed to start my computer by removing the cache module. The controller is accessible by the HP SSA, but disconnected in this configuration.
I bought a battery to check if the cache works with it. I'll keep you up-to-date.
Thank you for your help
