DL360e gen8 upgrades.
Hi, I state that I have read the documentation but I need some real life cases regarding this server:
Product Number : 668812-421
Description : HPE PROLIANT DL360E GEN8 E5-2403 1P 4GB-R HOT PLUG 4 LFF 460W PS ENTRY SVR with P73(02/10/2014 ) bios.
My goal is to give new life to a homelab use for this machine, mounting two E5-2470v2 and bring the machine to at least 128Gb of RAM.
I think I'm in a bios release that already supports v2, so I should omit the fw upgrade/switch via usb key, right?
I can't find a clear reference if I can populate only 2x32Gb for each processor with ram 664693-001 32GB, 1333MHz, PC3L-10600L-9, DDR3, Quad-Rank x4, 1.35V, Load Reduced Dual In-Line Memory Module (LRDIMM ) for a total of 128Gb (2x2 total 4). Has anyone done this?
Thank you.

Re: DL360e gen8 upgrades.
Hello, I prefer to thank you now.
I have already seen this document, but I would like to point out one thing:
On page 47 there are two tables: one for v2s and one for non-v2s.
For v2 the presence of 32Gb quad rank modules is not specified, for v1 yes.
But on page 48 I notice that it is possible to have a total of 384Gb on a v2, (therefore populating it with 32Gb modules) and also on page 50 it is specified that the 647903-B21 can be used for the E5-2400 v2.
Unfortunately http://www.hp.com/go/ddr3memory-configurator is no longer available, and I wonder if anyone has already partially populated with 4x32Gb modules in real life scenario.
EDIT:
another just for info: looking this: HP 16GB (1x16GB) Dual Rank x4 PC3L-10600R (DDR3-1333) Registered CAS-9 Low Voltage Memory Kit 647901-B21
If it's not listed for v2 does that mean it doesn't work with a v2 processor?
Thank you.

Re: DL360e gen8 upgrades.
Yes, based on the information you provided, it appears that you can install ten HP 647653-081 modules, also known as HP 16GB (1x16GB) Dual Rank x4 PC3L-10600R (DDR3-1333) Registered CAS-9 Low Voltage Memory Kit (part number 647901-B21), on a dual CPU Xeon E5-2470v2 system. This configuration would allow you to reach a total memory capacity of 160GB.
Each of these memory modules has a capacity of 16GB, and since they are dual-rank modules, you can install ten of them (10x16GB) to achieve the total of 160GB of RAM.
However, please note that it is always advisable to consult the official documentation or reach out to their support team to confirm the exact supported memory configurations for your specific server model and processors. They can provide you with the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding memory compatibility and supported capacities.
