DL380 Gen10, CPLD update for Persistent Memory

Good morning,

I tried to install persistent memory on my DL380 Gen10 as described in the documentation, but as I've seen in other threads, it requires an update only available via HPE ticket.

-The system is updated as of today.
-I meet the technical requirements shown in the documentation with two Xeon 6240 processors.

* HPE Persistent Memory only supported on 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processor series (Platinum 8200, Gold 6200, Gold 5200, Silver 4215, and 4215R).
* A maximum of 12 Persistent Memory DIMMs can be installed.
* Mixing RDIMM and LRDIMM memory is not supported.

Since it's very likely I'll be told to open a case, I'd like to know the following details since I currently don't have an active or current support contract.

Does creating a case and providing the requested information always involve a billable cost?

When HPE reviews the case, will I be told the cost of the solution, and can I accept or reject it?

I would like to know the circuit and implications before opening the case.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

Re: DL380 Gen10, CPLD update for Persistent Memory

Greetings!

You are free to open a case, but without a current contract, it will be billable under T&M.

HPE will inform you upfront about any costs before doing any paid work.
