Query: Do RHEL 8 and 9 inbox drivers support Broadcom MegaRAID MR416i-a?

Will the RHEL (8 and/or 9) delivered inbox drivers recognize P26279-B21 "Broadcom MR416i-a Cntrl for HPE
Gen10+"? Or are HPE delivered drivers required to get past installation to OS partition. And if you aren't sure can you please tell me the PCI ID and I'll check with Redhat.

I am not sure if the drive is already part of the Operating System, but I can provide you the link to download the drives for HPE MR416i-a Storage Controller.

I could only see drivers for RHEL 7, and 8, but not for 9 yet.

Thank you for the Post.

We checked the release notes of RHEL 8 and RHEL 9 we couldnt see Inbox driver details. We believe it should be installed post Installation.

However you may try this post Installation to check : 

• rpm -qa | grep megaraid
• rpm -q kmod-megaraid_sas

The output will be similar to the following:

kmod-megaraid_sas-07.716.02.00-1.rhel8u3.x86_64

If the above information is available that tells us that the Driver is not part of OS inbox driver. And you may proceed to install the Drivers downloaded separately.

Thanks guys I'll kudos once we try it. Wondering if anyone has tried a naked/inbox install of RHEL 8 or 9 yet with that array controller and all was groovie/worked-fine (and didn't have to inject HPE driver kit)? Nothing is more reliable than inbox drivers!
