How to get more details about hp server using its serial number?

Every HP server has a serial number.
Is there a place in HP site that gives more details about the server, given the serial number.

Hi,
I have never seen a site with the information you are after, as it may be a breach of customer confidentiality. The next best thing I can recommend is to contact the person you bought the machine from. HP may have some internal information as who bought the machine from new, as a warranty would have been on the machine, but I'm not sure they would give that information to a third party.
I assume you are after information which can not be gained from the machine directly?

It works most of the time. It can give some info on the model and also on the warranty status. With the newer models, I have found that you need the product ID XXXXXX-xxx.
