HP G7 DL380 / Add new VGA
Hi
I have G7 server
Recently I decide to add VGA to my server that I can start game and video editing
When I put my graphic card into riser card and the device is start , the cpu fan working to much , I change my graphic and also put the riser to another port on motherboard but stile the same , means the server work in high performance fan's when detect New Graphic card in external port on riser
I update the bios with Original source of HP with this md5 / SHA256:
MD5: a259b671a8cc37e89194d1f050d68424
SHA256: 99293396855a023d2d8c0df270dfb9b60ef83878c32a83ca102565f93c5ac80f
Also I reset configuration to default, no matter the settings, its work with high performance cpu fan !
These are my image from the cart I put the graphic card on it...
Also with these 2 VGA card , everything's are cool , but just the sound and to much working of the fan is my problem.
Is it problem of the riser card ? or I should change the config in bios?
Regards

Re: HP G7 DL380 / Add new VGA
Greetings!
If we refer the quick specs for DL380 G7 or options part page, there is no supported graphics card listed.

Also if third party add-on cards or drives are installed, it tends to cause fan speed issues as iLO won't be able to read sensor information from 3rd party components. Also installing such components can damage the server.
You may try changing the Thermal Configuration to Optimal Cooling or Increased Cooling and check the result, but having said that we aren't sure how the system is going to behave if the installed component is unsupported.

Re: HP G7 DL380 / Add new VGA
Greetings!
The system board for this model has 2 PCI connectors, this is where we install the riser cards and these riser cards have the actual PCI slots, to which PCI cards are installed.
If you need to install additional storage controller, Fibre channel, expander card etc, you can use the riser slots (depending on card<->slot specification).
As per the links provided earlier, there is no supported sound card or USB card listed for the server. All supported options can be found on those web-links.
