HP PROLIANT ML350 management port

Hello,

I have 4 HP proliant ML350  ( 2xG6, 1xG8, 1xG9). I would like to manage them by the remote port management.

I would like to know what can we do from the management port (health diagnostic..)

I would like to know how to manage that ethernet port (ip adresse...).

What's the best solution between create a new Management VLAN on the switch to connect the servers and directly connect the server on an existing VLAN and configuring routing.

Thank you in advance.

Re: HP PROLIANT ML350 management port

Hi Sebastien,

If I am understanding correctly the remote port management means HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) port.

If yes, then please follow the below documentation to configure HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) port, else please explain about remote port management.

HPE ProLiant ML350 G6  comes with HP Integrated Lights-Out 2, whereas HPE ProLiant ML350 Gen8 and Gen9 comes with HP Integrated Lights-Out 4.

It’s always recommended to keep Management and Production network on different network.

Hence create a new Management VLAN for Management network.
