HPE Microserver Gen10+ White Screen Updating SPP or Launching IP

Good afternoon,

I have been struggling with a system after it had been wiped in regards to configuring it for a new use.
This is an HPE Microserver Gen10+.
I am able to update intelligent provisioning and once I do that, I am unable to run the SPP updates. It boots into automatic, but the screen stays white and gives me a cursor and has a green outline around the screen but the HP logo will not show up and it will not progress further. I get the same behavior when trying to launch Smart Storage Administrator or any other Intelligent provisioning tools.

I have tried updating SPP and IP via iLO, USB Key, and DVD, all with separate downloads to make sure it wasnt due to a single bad file and I have had no luck.

Is anyone able to help get me back up and running?

Since you are configuring the server for New Use.
Please perform below:

 

1. Restoring default manufacturing settings

2. Upgrading Intelligent Provisioning

3. Update SPP

Good morning and thank you for the reply.

I was able to locate the document that indicated how to restore to default manufacturing settings. I was getting some sort of permissions issue but I ended up using this article:

Once completed, I have been trying to update Intelligent Provisioning per your next instruction but no matter what media I use, I get a message that reads:

Starting initrd...
Warning!!! Unable to mount the file system
Preboot maintenance mode
/bin/ash: can't access tty; job control turned off

Additionally, on the initial bootup up after the manufacturer reset, the server rebooted a few times and the IML shows this error:

Uncorrectable Machine Check Exception (Processor 1, APIC ID 0x00000000, Bank 0x00000006, Status 0xEE000000'0040110A, Address 0x00000000'FEF1E9C0, Misc 0x00000438'80000086).

Any additional thoughts or things I can try?

Hello,

please try below:

> Mount the IP (iso) via ILO and boot from it. ( By choosing from One time Boot Menu)
> If Issue remains , Reset ILO (From ILO home screen --> Diagnostics -- > Reset)

> If issue remains , please Log a case with HPE support.
