HPE SPP Update Gen10 - Server Restart

I performed an HPE SPP update on a Gen10 server. We use RMM and have scheduled reboots for these servers. Will the scheduled reboot apply the update, or should I manually click the 'Reboot' button to ensure the updates are applied?

Hi @chrisarceo ,

Yes, If the SPP update is completed successfully and at the windows requesting the reboot, then even the scheduled reboot will apply the update.

Re: HPE SPP Update Gen10 - Server Restart

@Supreeth_B Hello Supreeth,

Thank you for the quick response.

If that's so, then why is the 'Abort' and 'Start over' button available as an option?

It seems (from what I'm thinking) that the 'Reboot' button will do some more tasks to send to the iLO and the server itself to apply the updates.

I really appreciate it if you could enlighten me and provide an article for that.

Re: HPE SPP Update Gen10 - Server Restart

Hi @chrisarceo  ,

The "Start Over" and "Abort" buttons will help at the time of incomplete or failed update.
The 'Reboot" button will help at all times such as failure, incomplete or successful update. It does only the reboot, nothing else in all the conditions.

Re: HPE SPP Update Gen10 - Server Restart

Hi Supreeth,

Thanks for this clarification.

I have confirmed that the updates were applied successfully after the scheduled restart, without hitting the restart button. I am now happy to proceed with the plan.

Thanks again. Really appreciate your help.
