iLO disabled and no option to enable on DL380 G9

Hi everyone, hope your having a good day.

I've a HPE proliant DL380 Gen9 LFF server for some time and never used the iLO, but recently I needed to check something on it and I realized it's disabled, so I tried to configure it but since it said disabled I couldn't do that in none of the wizards, then I tried for enabling it through the system utilities (F9) -> system configuration based on documents, but there was no iLO option! I went through all the menus and sub menus including RBSU, there is no iLO option at all! One thing that i noticed is when the POST completes it says "the system ROM no installed" (something like this I don't remember the exact text)

Is this some kinda iLO drivers issue? And will be fix by installing them using SPP or should i try to go with system backup ROM and see if it works there? Then try to update the SPP to the latest?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

You may refer to the "iLO 4 Configuration Utility options" UEFI System Utilities User Guide for HPE ProLiant Gen9 Servers and HPE Synergy for more information.

Re: iLO disabled and no option to enable on DL380 G9

After firmware update on my (disabled) ILO 4 my entire ILO4 configuration utility option dissapeared from the BIOS setup menu as well.

Factory defaults, user defaults and backup BIOS boot did not work either. ML350 Gen9 with BIOS from 2014 (which I am trying to update). This stops me from both enabling/accessing ILO and updating the BIOS...

Any suggestions as to how I may re-enable ILO4 would be greatly appreciated!

Re: iLO disabled and no option to enable on DL380 G9

Were you able to enable ilo? My hpe dl380 gen9 server always reboot at random time when running a program in the server. I haven't been able to use it for a day. I bought it from a reseller in New Zealand and shipped to Nigeria but haven't been able to use it. I'm just fed up .  I really need aid from HPE support. Thanks.

Re: iLO disabled and no option to enable on DL380 G9

I have been able to access ilo from my laptop but the issue still persist. The system reboots when I'm copying a large file into a path. I'm running a windows server os.

Can you assist me please; my server list of Firmwares removed automatically.

  1. My dl380 gen9 server tries to boot but goes off. When I accessed the ILo to see what's happening I discovered that the list of Firmwares in the system information > firmware information, have all disappeared (removed without any action taken to remove them) apart from the ILo firmware which is left in the firmware list. Also I checked the IML and I saw messages like; 1 server critical fault (Service information: Input Power Loss, Power Supply, Power Supply 1 (03)). 1 server critical fault (Service information: Input Power Loss, System Board, AUX/Main EFUSE Regulator 1 (10h)). 56 Critical temperature threshold exceeded. What can I do to resolve this issue?
