System spec.
E3-1240 v5
32gb ram
4x4tb in the front cadge connected to the internal controller.
250gb SSD internal sata
500gb ssd internal sata
4x1tb SSHD connected to the H240
Quodro P600
Front fan kit installed.
Windows server 2022.
Everything update using Nov 2021 SPP.
H240 is running v7 firmware, the system starts up fine when it gets to windows the the rear fan starts to creep up to 70%
With the h240 uninstalled it stays around 11%
I've reset the bios pulled power from a cold boot. Power management is set to balanced, the h240 is set to balanced. I have tinkered around changing bits but no luck. But it has booted once with the fans around 11% and stayed there.

Re: ML30 Gen9 fan Speed H240
Hi,
As you have done most of the troubleshooting, I can only suggest the following:
Update Server BIOS and iLO firmware.
Update H240 Firmware.
Thanks

Re: ML30 Gen9 fan Speed H240
I've also removed it and the fans go back to normal. Reinstall and they go crazy again.

Re: ML30 Gen9 fan Speed H240
Hi,
From the above Specifications , we noticed :
> Quodro P600 is not a supported Card for - ML30 Gen9.
QuickSpecs for ML30 Gen9 Serverhttps://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/c04834991?jumpid=in_lit-psnow-red
> Try by removing Quodro P600 , and see if any difference in the Fan Noise.
> What SSD's , HDD's are you using with H240 , please share the Model Numbers and Spare part Numbers.
> Bios Download would require you to link you server Contract.

SolutionFinally found the issue.
Your are right the p600 isnt officially supported even thoe its a HP branded card. But does work as its only used for encoding.
But the issue was down to a faulty drive on the H240..... It wasnt being reported then yesterday it picked up a issue.
Swapped the drive and everything runs perfectly. rear fan at 11% and front fan at 20%. So good enough for me. If i find a cheap p2000 which probaby wont be for a long time becuase of the market the fans should drop down more as i noticed with no cards in they both run at 6%.

Re: ML30 Gen9 fan Speed H240
Can you share a ML30 gen9 me ROM bin backup file? There seems to be a problem with my machine. I need a me ROM, which is the one next to Nanqiao on the motherboard. If there is a programmer to read it, it's ok if there's no one. Thank you
