ProLiant Gen 10 SSD in Gen 11 Server (Cross-generation compatibility)
Hi,
I'm wondering if it's possible to put Gen 10 SSDs in a Gen 11 server? The part numbers in the Quick Specs are different, but the price/availability on the Gen10 SSDs is a lot better, and the performance of G10 disks is more than enough for our needs. I'd rather put Gen10 drives in a Gen11 server than to go for 3rd party drives.
On a similar note, is there a difference between the DL380 (Intel) and DL385 (AMD) RAM? They have different part numbers, but for whatever reason, the Intel server RAM SKUs have lower prices. Both are DDR5, and appear to have the same speeds and timings, so what gives?

Re: ProLiant Gen 10 SSD in Gen 11 Server (Cross-generation compatibility)
Hello,
The options in the QuickSpecs indicate that those drivers have been tested for the controllers. It may not be possible to install that which is meant for the other and expect it to work as designed.
