Re: Proliant ML110 Gen9 Bios
Assuming you have iLO enabled, you can update the BIOS in iLO: https://techlibrary.hpe.com/docs/iss/DL380_Gen9/setup_install/GUID-646B66EE-59F6-4916-B4D9-5A509E1090F3.html

Re: Proliant ML110 Gen9 Bios
iLO will not brick your server.
However, you will need to configure iLO in the BIOS/UEFI setup before you can use it, assuming if you never used it before. This will mean connecting a monitor to your server, and taking it down while you configure iLO.

Re: Proliant ML10 Gen9 Bios
Oh, that makes sense.
In that case, if you want to update the BIOS, if supported by the ML10, you should probably use a Linux Live USB to update the BIOS.
You could also use Windows To Go or another Windows Live USB but I mostly develop C#/.NET on Windows/Azure for a living while using Linux at home, and am no Windows expert.

Re: Proliant ML10 Gen9 Bios
Thank for ur comment. At home, I am running a pfsense router built on FreeBSD and no longer have a service contract to download bios firmware.
Does HP posts their bIos for free?

Re: Proliant ML10 Gen9 Bios
HPE does not openly publish BIOS updates for Gen9 or lower, but does for Gen10 and up. HPE also posts iLO for all servers.
I could download Gen10 BIOS updates fine.
