ComputerVault Delivers VDI Confidence with HPE OEM

With workplace transformation well underway, ComputerVault partnered with HPE OEM for a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solution that could reliably and efficiently handle customers’ data-intensive workloads.

ComputerVault entered an HPE OEM partnership in April 2021 to use the tier-one hardware, global proactive support, and an extensive channel partner network that HPE offers. “Partnering with an industry leader like HPE gives our channel partners and end customers a lot of confidence,” says Marc Zarrella, Vice President, Revenue and Partnerships, ComputerVault.

ComputerVault certified the 1U HPE ProLiant server platform to host their hyper-converged infrastructure enterprise software. Their engineers spent four months testing performance speeds and uptime, including one test where multiple virtual desktops ran 500 YouTube videos simultaneously for 48 hours. “There was no buffering or pausing. Each video ran as if it was the only one running,” Zarrella said.

Impressive performance for resource-intensive apps

When one of ComputerVault’s customers, a large certified public accountant (CPA) firm, ran several resource-intensive financial applications on the new VDI, employees noticed the speed was significantly faster than before. Zarella reported that “[t]he president of the CPA firm said … his team can’t believe the difference in performance.”

In addition, the HPE hardware comes with HPE Pointnext Tech Care, so customers get top-level support that makes decision-makers take notice.

“When it comes to big enterprise purchases, C-level folks want the peace of mind of knowing if something does go wrong, HPE will stand behind their products,” Zarrella says. “And with the way HPE collaborates for both our benefit and our customers’ benefit is a partnership that’s a natural fit for us,” he concludes.
