Re: Explore key updates and enhancements for HPE OneView 8.60.01 and 9.0
HPE continues to innovate its compute management portfolio with the introduction of significant enhancements to HPE OneVIew 9.0 and 8.60.01. Learn how you can experience greater flexibility, automation, and integration options that will help your organization stay ahead of evolving infrastructure.
HPE continues to evolve its compute management portfolio, bringing innovation and advancements that support the latest release of HPE OneView, version 9.0 with supporting notes from version 8.60.01. The ground-breaking HPE OneView enables an integrated IT infrastructure management software that connects compute, storage, and networking IT operations by automating and simplifying lifecycle management.
HPE OneView 9.0 and 8.60.01 introduce significant enhancements designed to improve management of HPE OneView ProLiant servers and storage systems. These version updates expand the platformโs functionality, offering greater flexibility, automation, and integration options to help your business stay ahead of evolving infrastructure needs.
HPE OneView 9.0: The latest in the evolution of superior IT infrastructure management
In August 2024, HPE introduced version 9.0 of OneView, building on the strong foundation of previous versions and offering enhanced automation and security improvements.
Key enhancements:
- Proactive firmware updates. The latest firmware update feature introduced in 8.60.01 is expanded in version 9.0 and is now integrated into server profiles and templates. This makes it easier than ever to automate firmware management across multiple devices.
- Password rotation automation. HPE OneView now includes automatic scheduled password rotations for administrator accounts on managed devices, adding an extra layer of security.
- Support for HPE Alletra 4140 Gen11. With the introduction of the Intel Emerald Rapids processor, HPE OneView now offers full support for the HPE Alletra 4140 Gen11 systems, further optimizing performance and scalability.
Additional features include improved management features for the HPE Compute Scale-Up Server 3200, including firmware version 1.3.x support, plus new integration with HPE ProLiant Gen11 servers, further solidifying HPE OneView as the go-to platform for HPEโs latest server innovations.
HPE OneView 8.60.01: Targeted improvements for seamless server management
The 8.60.01 release, launched in November of 2023, focused on addressing known industry-related IT management issues to further streamline the user experience.
Key enhancements:
- Enhanced firmware management. The inventory-based firmware update feature now allows automatic component downloads directly from HPE servers, ensuring that the latest Service Pack for HPE ProLiant (SPP) components are readily available. This minimizes downtime and ensures systems are always running at optimum performance.
- Remote support for HPE ProLiant Servers. HPE OneView now offers extended remote support capabilities for HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen11 and Nutanix (DX) servers, further broadening hardware management options.
- Security enhancements. Administrators can now manage the HPE iLO Security Dashboard settings directly through server profiles and templates, with options to enable or disable security tracking via both the UI and REST API.
Additional features include:
- Support for System Firmware Management on HPE Superdome Flex and HPE Compute Scale-Up Server 3200, allowing for single-partition configurations.
- Partition management, with new capabilities to create, edit, and delete partitions on HPE Compute Scale-Up Server 3200, making server configurations more customizable and scalable.
- Expanded support for Cisco Nexus NX-OS 9.4(1a), enhancing SAN switch compatibility.
These updates build upon previous versions of HPE OneView to ensure that it remains an industry-leading infrastructure management platform, all while providing robust tools to optimize, secure, and automate IT operations across both compute and storage environments.
