Find the right office-in-a-box sizing to fit your business
Give your customers and employees more of what they want with HPE Small Business Solutions for Small Office Deployment. A range of configuration sizes makes it easy for you to get what you want, too.
As youโre planning for re-opening your small or midsize business and bringing employees back to the office, youโre probably rethinking your business operations. Things like being more prepared for business continuity, staying better in touch with your customers, going digital, and enabling employees to do essential office tasks from home.
By leveraging HPE Small Business Solutions for Small Office Deployment, together with Microsoft Windows Server Remote Desktop Service (RDS,) you can accomplish a lot of these goals. This solution includes a server and storage, as well as wired and wireless networkingโall tested and validated together for a bulletproof solution. This will enable you to connect more effectively with todayโs tech-savvy customers. These customers want to use their phones and tablets for everythingโand they expect your employees and providers to be able to do the same.
HPE Small Business Solutions for Small Office Deployment enable you to provide:
- Fast, free Wi-Fi access that customers can use while waiting or shopping
- App-enabled services like checking in, ordering, paying, and account detailsโright from their phone
- Account or inventory information for sales associates at the point of sale
- For medical providers, access to patientsโ latest records, securely, via a tablet or smartphone in the exam room.
Plus, you need to plan for letting employees work from anywhere, sometimes without much notice. If youโve recently had to move to a work-from-home (WFH) model, you may have noticed productivity suffering as a result. Thereโs not a lot employees can do if they canโt access resources and tools at the main office. Moving forward, you want to make sure your employees have what they need to keep the business thrivingโno matter where they do their work. RDS enables remote users to access a Microsoft Windows Server instance and its associated applications and data running in the main office. All the processing still takes place on your on-premises serverโnot on local user machinesโand all instances run simultaneously on the on-premises secured server.
RDS is a great fit for simple desktop applicationsโlike Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlookโespecially when most users access the same applications and use roughly the same amount of resources. For example, if you have a server at the office that runs batch jobs and your employees need to pull information from that server to do their work, RDS is a good option.
Choose from 3 configurations
Weโve recently updated and expanded our HPE Small Business Solutions for Small Office Deployment. These are validated solution bundles that include everything you need for supporting remote workers as well as on-site Wi-Fi. They bring together the performance, management, reliability, and security of HPE ProLiant Gen10 serversโall powered by Intel Xeon E-2200 series processors with โeasy as 1-2-3โ Aruba wireless access points (WAPs)โand the peace of mind of HPE Foundation Care. In addition, HPE ProLiant Gen10 Servers feature HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO), which enables industry-leading security as well as remote management capabilities.
You can now choose from three configurations, depending on how many users and devices you need to support:
The small configuration is based on the new HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 Plus that was just announced in March. Itโs ideal for a very small office, up to 10 users with about 20 different devices. Weโre currently working on investigating the number of remote users this solution can support with RDS.
- HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 Plus, powered by Intelยฎ Xeonยฎ, with Aruba Instant On AP11 WAP and optional HPE OfficeConnect 1820 Switch
- Optional HPE RDX Removable Disk Backup for reliable disk-based backup with fast disaster recovery.
Scroll down to the end of this post to see short videos about this configuration and why itโs a perfect fit for SMB applications ranging from home offices to retail stores to small healthcare organizations.
The medium configuration is ideal for a more midsize office, up to 25 concurrent users (10 session-based RDS and 15 onsite) with about 50 different devices. This configuration is the ultimate in simplicity and speed for single sites:
- HPE ProLiant ML30 Gen10 Server, powered by Intel Xeon processors, with HPE OfficeConnect 1920s switch and 2 x Aruba Instant On AP12 WAP
- Optional HPE RDX Removable Disk Backup for reliable disk-based backup with fast disaster recovery.
The large configuration, for up to 100 concurrent users (20 session-based RDS and 80 onsite) and 2 devices per user, provides greater flexibility and features for one or more sites, with expanded storage to help you protect valuable digital assets:
- HPE ProLiant DL20 Gen10 Server, powered by Intel Xeon processors, with 2 x Aruba 2530 switches, 1 x Aruba Instant On AP15 WAP, and 4 x Aruba Instant On AP12 WAP
- HPE StoreEasy 1460 for file sharing and backup
- Optional HPE RDX Removable Disk Backup for backup and disaster recovery.
All three choices are hybrid cloud ready, giving you the option to back up data on- or off-premises with cloud services from Microsoft Azure or a managed service provider.
