Take advantage of FREE evaluation license for HPE GreenLake for Compute Ops Management
Available through HPE GreenLake, Compute Ops Management is built on a unique cloud-native architecture that automates and transforms complex and time-consuming infrastructure management operations into a simplified as-a-service experience.
Like you, many customers are searching for a cloud-native experience and simplified way to manage their devices โ in addition to automation, data-centricity, and connectedness of many of their systems โ along with the flexibility and speed to deploy new technologies as they become available.
To address these challenges, we recently introduced HPE GreenLake for Compute Ops Management which transforms compute management across the organization by delivering secure cloud operations to a distributed compute infrastructure. Compute Ops Management simplifies and automates lifecycle management โ while unifying compute management through a single console โ no matter where your infrastructure lives.
Put it to the test
If you are an HPE ProLiant customer with Gen10 or Gen10+ servers, a free public evaluation program is now available, and I highly encourage you to check it out.
Compute Ops Management is delivered via the HPE GreenLake cloud platform and can be accessed at common.cloud.hpe.com. This is an account-based sign-in page where youโll log in for access to all HPE GreenLake cloud services moving forward. No account? Even if you are not an HPE GreenLake customer, or donโt already have an HPE GreenLake account, youโll be able to create an access account during your first login. Once you are online, youโll be able to add the Compute Ops Management app to your home screen.
During the evaluation period, youโll have access to explore all the features and functionality of the product. Youโll be able to add servers, create server groups, perform batch firmware updates to the groups, set up policies, and try out managing servers and locations โ all without having to physically be where they are located.
Compute Ops Management will be available for purchase starting in June 2022 as a subscription with Standard or Enhanced feature tiers. The FREE 90-day evaluation license is available NOW and includes all features and functionality of the Enhanced tier, for up to 10 devices.
To take advantage of the license offer, go to the HPE GreenLake for Compute Ops Management webpage, scroll down the page until you see the Request an Evaluation form, and enter your name and company information. This enables us to verify your HPE ProLiant customer status.
Shortly after, youโll receive an email with the license key to activate your free Compute Ops Management trial. At any time during your 90-day evaluation, and any time after our June launch, you can convert the evaluation license to a Standard or Enhanced paid subscription. If you do not convert your evaluation license within the 90 day window, the evaluation will automatically end.
Moving to the edge
More and more, compute is moving out of centrally managed data centers to where data is created โ at the edge โ and operations are changing to include these dispersed edge locations. Now that the compute landscape has changed, your management tactics must change as well to reduce complexity, time, and associated costs.
According to a report by Frost & Sullivan, Becoming a Competitive, Data-Centric Business, keeping on top of the evolving IT environment is challenging. 63% of businesses said that keeping up with the pace of changing technologies is a critical challenge for their business, 57% reported that they donโt have sufficient expertise in their organization to implement their desired technology initiatives, and 75% went on to state that a cloud strategy is essential to remaining competitive in their industry.
Stop managing the management
The traditional tools available in the market arenโt natively designed to support highly distributed environments. As technology changes, the edge presence of compute systems will continue to grow, making management of multiple infrastructure environments even more difficult and complex.
Customers indicate that the challenges they face in managing distributed environments โ such as keeping them up to date to comply with security and compliance requirements โ is a constant, painful, and ever-growing fire-fighting situation. Many are forced to appoint dedicated IT resources just to oversee the tools that are used to manage their environments. In addition to needing to stand up management servers or clusters, every device needs to be updated regularly to enable the latest fixes and features.
โWith dispersed locations, administering servers that reside outside the core data center is demanding and arduous. โIT teams describe all sorts of ways they handle making critical infrastructure updates ranging from taking a โset and forgetโ approach โ which exposes them to risk โ to flying people and servers to locations across the globe, which is costly, time-consuming, and takes resources away from business prioritiesโ. Performing patch updates on edge devices can take weeks to months to complete depending on the volume of devices impacted; 10-20% of devices fail to reboot successfully and require manual intervention which is costly in terms of time and money spent. The larger the volume and more distributed the nature of the environment, the more significant the problem is. And letโs face facts: spending weeks to months dealing with these issues is no longer feasible in this competitive marketplace.
With Compute Ops Management, HPE will modernize your operations by unifying and simplifying server management, edge to cloud. Simplified, cloud-based management means youโll be able to focus on key business priorities and objectives without ever having to manage your management solution.
Donโt waste another minute on manual tasks. Try it today!
