What you need to know about HPE OneView 6.6
Good news to share! HPE OneView 6.6 now offers extended support for HPE hardware platforms until their software end-of-support-life (EOSL) date. Additionally, HPE OneView 6.6 provides enhancements to further modernize the data center with a software-defined approach.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise is pleased to announce the release of HPE OneView 6.6, an integrated IT infrastructure management software that automates IT operations and simplifies infrastructure lifecycle management across compute, storage and networking. This most recent release provides updates to supported hardware platforms with additional enhancements to further automate and modernize your datacenter with a software-defined approach.
HPE OneView 6.6 features an update to the current supported hardware such as server platforms, networks, and storage devices. With the recent long-term support (LTS) release, HPE OneView 6.6 offers extended support for HPE hardware platforms1 until their software end-of-support-life (EOSL) date.
Additionally, HPE OneView 6.6 provides enhancements to improve efficiency and support. New capabilities include:
- Reduced firmware downgrade time with new policy option for firmware management
- VMware vSphere Rolling cluster updates for non-VC Synergy interconnects
- HPE OneView Remote Support (OVRS) support for DX325 and DX385 Gen10 plus v2 servers
- Quick view of applied license keys using the new license view
- Local storage management enabled on HPE ProLiant rackmount servers with HPE Smart Array & SmartRAID (SR) controllers (PCIe Add-In-Card form factor).
Some important things to know about the LTS release:
- The LTS release can be patched, as required, to address security and other critical issues.
- LTS patches will not contain new features.
- Updating from an LTS release to a newer release with end-of-life (EOL) hardware platforms or devices will be blocked.
If you decide to continue to use EOL hardware platforms or devices, they must remain on the specified HPE OneView LTS release. Those platforms will remain supported until their associated software EOSL date. If you want to update to a future release, you must first remove the EOL platforms.
