SDN VAN Controller bug: Silent failure when inserting flow (OF 1.3)

Hey guys,

I was facing some problems using SetField actions. It simply not writing in FlowTable.

I've finally found the solution debugging with Wireshark.

The SDN VAN Controller was failling silently when we added some WRONG FlowMods.

After writing into a FlowTable, we could see a OF_ERROR message (debugging with Wireshark), explaining the reason of error.

I have added 1 action per Instruction, but the correct approach must be: 1 Instruction to N actions.

Would be great if you could inform the controller's guys, about this silent failure.

Here are some packets that helped us to find the solution.

"packet" file contains the OF Message written (wrongly) in the switch.

"packet-error" file contains the OF_ERROR that helped me to fix my FlowMod message.

Thanks,

Icaro Camelo
