HPE SANNav _ not able to save custom Event policy
Does anyone know what could be causing this issue. I am trying to build a custom alert policy in SANNav v.2.2.0. When I go to Event policy manangement and try to build a custom email alert it will not allow me to save the file when trying to use an email notification. I have tried everything and I am really stumped on this one. I have full admin rights to SANNAv.
I was very familiar with Brocade Network Advisor and this new version SANNav appears to have some issues. I am an HPE customer and so far HPE support is surely lacking on the product. I don’t think they know a thing about this Brocade Product.
What I am trying to do is create an email alert, to an email address with severity of critical. There may be some events I will exclude from this alert such and SNMP timeout or other alerts we deem is non-critical. This seems pretty straight forward and I can create an alert but it won’t let me save it. The save button is grayed out. If I change the actions field to suppress event it allows me to save the event policy.
Following all the instructions on Brocade SanNav user guide 2.2.0 page 400, This seems like it should be easy to do. I have tried everything and can't get it to work.

Re: HPE SANNav _ not able to save custom Event policy
Hello @robocp01,
This looks like due to user edit privilege lacking to do the task for the user role you logged in. How about you try with the default admin user?
I am just guessing. Sorry if you have already tried this as well.

Re: HPE SANNav _ not able to save custom Event policy
Thanks for your help. Yea I thought the same thing and I had already tried that. I just tried it again to confirm it was not working. Logged in with the default admin account and still can't save the event filter. My personal account has full rights to everything, so not sure what is causing it.
Also you would think that by clicking on the Suppress Event it allows me to save the event policy. Both logged in with my account and the default admin account. It only will not allow me to save it if I want to take some action., such as sending an email.

Re: HPE SANNav _ not able to save custom Event policy
This might be too simple but did you enter some text in the "Body" field after selecting email alert?
I found the save greyed out till I tried that.
