#SAP HANA Public Cloud and On-Prem Hybrid Deployment
Hi in one of the scenarios I encountered. Customers SAP Landscape is 100% on public cloud, now due to cost and other challenges, they want to repatriate first the test and development environment to on-prem/private cloud keeping the production environment in the public cloud itself.
Do we have any references similar to this scenario and if we can list down all the dependencies involved to make this repatriation as seamless as possible. I understand this is a very blanket statement and a large part of it will be SAP/Application dependent.
Any inputs/information/references on this, will really help.
Thanks in advance.

Re: #SAP HANA Public Cloud and On-Prem Hybrid Deployment
Yes, it is possible to have a hybrid deployment model where you can keep your production environment in the public cloud while moving your test and development environment to an on-premise or private cloud setup. This kind of setup can be achieved with SAP HANA, which provides a lot of flexibility in terms of deployment options.
There are a few things to consider when moving your test and development environment to an on-prem/private cloud setup:
Network connectivity: You will need to ensure that there is a secure and reliable network connectivity between your on-prem/private cloud setup and your public cloud environment. This can be achieved through a VPN or dedicated network connections.
Hardware and software requirements: You will need to ensure that your on-prem/private cloud setup meets the hardware and software requirements for running SAP HANA. This includes factors such as memory, storage, CPU, and network bandwidth.
Data replication: You will need to ensure that your data is replicated from your production environment in the public cloud to your test and development environment in the on-prem/private cloud setup. This can be achieved through various replication tools provided by SAP HANA.
License requirements: You will need to ensure that you have the necessary licenses for your on-prem/private cloud setup. This may require additional licenses depending on the number of users and the size of the database.
Security and compliance: You will need to ensure that your on-prem/private cloud setup meets the security and compliance requirements of your organization. This includes factors such as access control, encryption, and data protection.
There are many resources available online that can help you plan and implement a hybrid deployment model with SAP HANA. SAP's official documentation provides detailed information on deployment options and best practices for hybrid scenarios. Additionally, there are many third-party vendors that offer tools and services to help with SAP HANA deployments and data replication.
Overall, with careful planning and execution, it is possible to achieve a seamless transition from a fully public cloud setup to a hybrid model that balances cost and other considerations.
