Hi,
I have an issue about logging on the SUM's web GUI.
When i launch the software via CLI (smartupdate), it starts well and generate an URL (https://localhost:63002/index.html?session_id=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ) which it works like a charm.
But, when i close the web browser, reopen it and requesting at https://localhost:63002 , SUM requests credentials.
According to the doc, these should be the same account that invoked the smartupdate.
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=a00112955en_us&page=v24088777.html
"If SUM is already running and you are prompted for login credentials when opening the GUI, use the current user credentials from the system running SUM."
and it's not working...
Does anyone had already this issue and how can i fix it ?
I already tested reusing the URL generated earlier, it works but that's not an acceptable solution, too much drawbacks (such as the URL token is different everytime you restart SUM)

Re: Smart Update Manager 8.8 unable to login
Check by Clearing the SUM cache.
Steps to Clear the SUM cache
SUM stores node information between sessions, including user credentials for nodes, in a database file. The cleancache removes the database information. The command does not delete the log directories or files.
Procedure
- Shut down the SUM engine. Use the command smartupdate shutdownengine from the SUM directory
- From a command-line window, navigate to the directory that contains SUM.
- Type clean-cache.bat (Windows) or clean-cache.sh (Linux).
NOTE: If you are using a GUI, you can navigate to the directory that holds SUM and run clean-cache to clear the cache. Running the clean-cache command erases all nodes, baselines, and other information entered in SUM.

Re: Smart Update Manager 8.8 unable to login
Hi @AmRa ,
Thanks for your reply.
I followed your instructions, but it doesn't fix the issue. I have a message ("Not Found") when i try to login with the local user that launched SUM.

SolutionHi,
I found a solution : do NOT use HPE SUM.
Instead, i installed a way more stable product : Ilo Amplifier Pack.
here the link to its FAQ : https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=emr_na-a00029513en_us

Re: Smart Update Manager 8.8 unable to login
Not easy if for instance you're forced MFA and the local Admin account is renamed and PW changed very often.
