Is there a good reference or do you know:
1. allowable chars for
vdisk names, folder names
2. length limits on vdisk names or folder names
I don't see a meantion in the sssu reference, but I could be overlooking it.
P.S. This thread has been moved from Storage Area Networks (SAN) (Enterprise) to HP Storage System Scripting Utility (SSSU), - HP Forum MOderator

Re: CViewEVA, SSSU, object/item naming rules
You can assign a name of your choosing. The maximum length is 32 characters. Names can contain any characters, except for the following:
? (question mark)
" (double quotes)
/ (slash)
\ (backslash)
< (less than sign)
> (greater than sign)
* (asterisk)
| (vertical bar)
: (colon)
+ (plus sign)
, (comma)
& (ampersand)
Note: Object names cannot be duplicated anywhere in the Navigation Tree. Duplicate names are not allowed across all object types and folders
