Upgrade StoreEasy 1460 Array Controller procedure

Hi,

We have a StoreEasy 1460 with a HPE Smart Array S100i Smart Array Controller. We want to upgrade/replace this controller with a HPE Smart Array P408i-a SR. Will Disk Roaming be supported? So will the current RAID on the disks be preserved and detected by the P408 controller?

Thanks,

Bastiaan

Re: Upgrade StoreEasy 1460 Array Controller procedure

Hello @Bastiaan v H,

- You should be able to upgrade to HPE Smart Array P408i-aSR as it supports the feature [Seamless upgrades from HPE Smart Array S-class and E-class controllers]. Here is the link for your reference -https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/a00008200enw

- Disks should be automatically picked up by the controller. Make sure below two points are considered before upgrading.
  1. You should have a complete data backup before upgrading.
  2.  Make sure both the controllers should be the same firmware version.

Thanks & Regards,
