1/8 G2 Autoloader drive load timeout code f4 98
Hi,
I am getting an error flashing on the front of the drive. I have dismounted the drives and remounted. For each tape in the drive I get
11.09.12 15:34:36.59 Library Error - HE: drive load timeout
Return status: 0x80 - command failed
Global error code: 0xF4 - hardware error, drive load timeout
Module error code: 0x98, 152
Current command: 0x15 - move cartridge
Task originator: 0x02 - CDB interpreter task
Extender library specifier: 0x00, 0
Source element type.: 0x02 - storage slot
Element number: 0x07, 7
Destination element type.: 0x04 - tape drive
Element number: 0x01, 1
This message was generated automatically from
1/8 G2 Autoldr
Serial Number : xxxxxxxxxxxx
IP Address : http://x.x.x.x.
Firmware Revision : 2.60
Library Name : FLXCCE43D
I have restarted, ran the wellness test, nothing works.
What do I need to do. I can't find any specific details on this error, like what caused it and what the resolution is.
Thanks in advance.

Re: 1/8 G2 Autoloader drive load timeout code f4 98
Here is what I found:
F4 - Time allotted for drive loading exceeded
Recommended actions:
Check that the tape cartridge is supported and has not exceeded its usage life. Inspect it for damage.
Retry the operation.
Clean the drive.
You described that the issue happens with all tapes in the loader ? Are they new, used ? Have they been working ?
You best next action would be to generate an L&TT support ticket and submit that to HP Support for review.

Yes it fails with all tapes. If I leave all slots empty the error indicator stops (after a restart).
I have put in a new, blank tape and I get the error again.

Re: 1/8 G2 Autoloader drive load timeout code f4 98
Hi,
I have exactly the ssame rpoblem since they've changed the tape library with a brand new one.
It's a MSL8096.
Could you please tell me how you fixed it (if you were able).
Thanks a lot!

Hi,
If the FC connection of the drives are running at 8GBps, it is recommended to change them to 4GBps and check.
Did you fix this issue? Will be helpful if you can share the solution
