Adaptec 2940AU and DLT70e / Windows2003

I have an adaptec 2940AU card with an external DLT70e hanging off it, terminated. The card is detected and operates fine with the OS but the tape drive is not detected at all. I cant seem to find anything wrong. Can anyone suggest anything!?

Im not 100% sure this is causing the issue but I dont see Win2k3 listed in the "Supported Operating Systems" for this HBA.

Is there a way you can test the drive anywhere else?

Yes, I noticed this OS is not listed even thought the OS recognises the card with its own drivers etc. I cannot test the drive elsewhere unfortunately but I have ordered another card that is listed for 2003 so we will see if that solves the issue. If not, I guess the tape itself is the problem.
