I have a tape drives, it tape drive failed and it was replaced. Now, how I make DP to recognize the new tape drive?
I have tried auto configuring but it creates a new Library with tape drives and slots with? question marks. How I can add the second tape drive to my exiting configuration

Solution
From the DPE admin interface can you select devices and go to the server where the devices are located or the library?
What happens when you "rescan" for devices?
Do the new devices show up on the server or library?
If they do then can you go to the job and select the properties of the job? From there you should be able to go to Device/Media and view the devices being used by the job. Under tapes or virtual tape devices you may find your new device. If it has not been selected then you can add it to the job by selecting it here.
Good luck.

Re: configuring data protector express
Thanks Bill, i have just identified the device and it has been recognized.
The thing is that i had to restart the server as well and then follow your steps.
Thanks
