Data cartridge cleaning?
After 2 days later, I wanted to read it in the same drive but the icon of "needs to be cleanead" appears. I clean it with the cleaning cartridge, but this icon continues displaying.
Can anybody help me?

Re: Data cartridge cleaning?
Somewhere there may be a lock file from the install test, which tells the system your drive needs cleaning. You should remove this file and it should work.
Problem is i do not remember the name.

Re: Data cartridge cleaning?
It is possible that your cleaning cartridge has expired. They are only good for 20 cleaning cycles. If they have exceeded this value then the cleaning icon is not extinguished. I would advise running Hp Library & Tape Tools and see what the drive has logged.

Re: Data cartridge cleaning?
That lock file from the install test, where is it? in the Tape Autoloader system or server system (Unix)?
Also thanks to Rothery for yours.
The cleaning cartridge has only 2 cleaning cycles, but when it has finished it display this message: "Cleaning cycle Failed. Drive is clean (or was already clean). Not a cleaning tape!"
An other question is:
I have used a cartridge writed in a HP SureStore DLT 40e tape, with ARCserveIT in Wondows NT.
Now I want to use it in a StorEDGE L9 Tape Autoloader of Sun Microsystems with Solaris 2.5.
The message appears: drive icon is a padlock and besides the text "drive idle" .
The external write protect tab of the cartridge is flick over.
How to do for unprotecting ?

Re: Data cartridge cleaning?
"Cleaning cycle Failed. Drive is clean (or was already clean). Not a cleaning tape!"
was wrong. I was mistaken. The cleaning became well.
