Data Protector Express - Failed Count Values?

Hello,
I'm baffled as how to tell WHAT files are failing on a SBS03 box and a single HP tape drive. I get about 4gb that are failing per the log, but when I check the log and search for any failed files (as the technical reference guide suggests), I find nothing - I only see what is "completed", assuming "completed" equals "successfully backed up". I really can't rely on this solution if I don't know what is not being backed up. I'm guessing I'm not looking close enough, but I'm hoping someone has seen this before and can help out. I greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

Re: Data Protector Express - Failed Count Values?

Hi Robbie,

There are 4 logging options for each job.
- None
- Log Only Failed (default)
- Log Only Successfull
- Log All

You set these on the Job Options page. There is a button labeled "Log Options". Try "log all".

Also, make sure you are looking at ALL pages of the log. The log is presented in the viewer as if it were printed in pages. Be sure to use the scroll bar on the right side of the viewer to see all of the information on the page and also use the "next page" button at the bottom to move to other pages.

You can also print the entire log or save it to a file using the buttons at the bottom of the page.

Re: Data Protector Express - Failed Count Values?

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the reply!
I have the logging options set to "log all" (Just out of curiosity, I've changed it to "log failed only" and will see how this displays after tonight's backup). I've also made sure all pages were displaying by saving the log file so it's all continuous and on the same page (I realized from the start how annoying it was to have to keep hitting next for the next page). I've also tried looking at them as html files. I still can't see anything that says failed (I both manually dig through and use F3 find with "failed" as the item to search) besides filenames containing "failed". I'll check tomorrow morning and let you know how it reports with "log failed only" selected.
Thanks again!
Robbie
