Duplicate Tape
I am using Dataprotector 5.0 to backup DB2. Both Dataprotector and DB2 run on HPUX11i platform. And connect to MSL6030 with single Ultrium 460 drive via SAN.
What is the best way to duplicate tape? Can i use "dd" to do the duplication? Can dataprotector able to read the duaplicate copy?

Re: Duplicate Tape
Hi,
You cant use dd for duplicating DP media. Instead, use the DP utility "omnimcopy". There has been a lot of improvements in the media copy concepts in later versions of DP but I am not sure about which features exists in DP 5.0 more then omnimcopy.
But, to duplicate a media you need two drives.
