A few years ago when I was still running Windows 95 I bought an HP Colorado 8gb external tape drive.
Although it was temperamental at times, I managed to keep it working when I upgraded to Windows 98.
But when I upgraded to Windows 2000, I was unable to install the software that came with the drive.
I'd be grateful for some help figuring out how to get the Colorado 8gb working again under Windows 2000.

Re: How to install HP Colorado 8GB tape drive in Windows 2000?
NOTE: I think I may be having trouble with the "Reply" function in this forum. When I click on the "Reply" link below Mr. Finch's response, I end up on a page that looks like I'm replying to my own orginal message. So, for the sake of clarity, I've cut and pasted the text of Mr. Finch's message below:

Thank you Mr. Finch. I downloaded and installed the software I found at that link. But when I ran it it locked up my system when I tried to shut down my computer.
So I searched for and found an alternate driver drvmcb.sys. I copied that into C:\WINNT\System32\Drivers.
I was then able to successfully back up my entire system and shut down the computer without incident.
However, last night when I attempted an incremental back-up, the back-up stalled about three quarters of the way through, and tied up my system in that stalled state for the rest of the night. I left it running when I went to bed and it was still in that stalled state this morning when I got up.
I tried to cancel the back-up job, but the program would not shut down. I tried to use the Windows 2000 task manager to shut it down and got this message:
Operation could not completed
Access denied
So I was forced to reboot my system.
This is the same type of difficulty I had with this drive back when I first started using it under Windows 95. It took me many hours over several months to get it working somewhat reliably.
Do you think you would be able to help me get it working properly again under Windows 2000 Pro?
