HP 1000E Backup Tape Device

I need some help in repairing a data tape that got broken in my backup tape device. Is there a repair kit that I can buy to repair the broken tape? Please, I hope someone knows where I might be able to find one.

I do not know of a real repair kit that you can buy and I assume that you need some vital data off the tape in question, so I would try a very small piece of tape. The finest (thinnest in depth) you can find. Just tape it from the back, obviously, so as not to cover the magnetic part.

I am not very confident it will work, but where needs must.....

HP partners with Vogon for professional data recovery assistance. Clearly there will be a fee for this so it depends how critical your data is.
