HP c1599a DDS-2
i have a HP c1599a tape drive for my pc but am having loads of trouble installing it.
I am running xp and have all the drivers on.
It is the only SCSI piece in the pc and i have terminated the cable.
XP installs it and the internal test comes up OK sometimes and on other occasionsit fails, even to the extent of locking up the machine totally.
Problem now is that whenever it tries to read or write data to the drive, after about 10Mb, it locks the machine.
Any ideas as to why this is happening.
I have the SCSi on IRQ 10 and the onboard USB and the multimedia device, could it be a conflict?

Re: HP c1599a DDS-2
Hi there.
Because the drive shares the interrupt, you may have the problem of a SCSI timeout.
Just an idea :
put the card in a different slot and then check the interrupt again.

Mark, which PC do you have? Which SCSI controller? Did you try HP LTT ( http://www.hp.com/cposupport/information_storage/support_doc/lpg50128.html )?
