HP Surestore 718 Autoloader

I have a Surestore 718 Autoloader where the Quantum DLT7000 drive is past its prime and needs to be refurbished or replaced. I was wondering whether it is possible to replace the DLT7000 with a DLT8000?

Tony, You could do that but the DLT8000 is also past it's prime. It reached end of support life last November. Check out some of the new autoloaders, you might be surprised what you can get for your money these days.

This is only for my Small Business Server setup I have at home. I am working to a small budget. I have the autoloader but a DLT7000 that does not work. I have the opportunity to replace it with a DLT8000 that has hardly been used. All I need to know is if I install a DLT8000 in a 718 autoloader will it work?
