Re: Install a HP ShureStore Ultrium 230
Dear Oreshkin,
You won't be able to install a tape drive without re-booting. You will not see the tape drive as being present. You need to ensure you have the correct driver loaded and then re-boot.

The driver for the Ultrium is on the TapeWare CD that came with your tape drive.
Rothery is correct, you cannot "hot-plug" this device, you'll need to shut down the server after you've loaded the tape driver and then connect the tape drive. Once you restart you should be able to use the tape drive with no problems.

Re: Install a HP ShureStore Ultrium 230
Thanx all.
I allready install the drive in my server. I swith off it because I was afraid of power damage the device. I plug the power and scsi cabels and turn on the server.
When system was boot and ready for work I loged on to server by admin, installed the driver for integrated scsi adapter. Windows 2k automaticly installed and started the driver and found the new device - Ultrium - and asked a driver for it. I gave driver for this backup device and the system installed and started them. Device was ready for work. All without reboot. I love Win2k...:)
