LTO Ultrium-1 driver problem

After installing Windows2003 Server, a driver problem occured. At the device manager there is an exclamation mark on HP LTO Ultrium-1 drive. We delete it and re scan for hardware changes, the device is installed again and working properly, but when We restart the server the exclamation mark comes again and the backup device does not work. The "Device status" in General" tab of the properties there is this message:
"The device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device.(Code 31)"
I installed the latest driver that is version 1.0.3.1 but nothing is changed.
Thanks for your help

Re: LTO Ultrium-1 driver problem

You may be having communications problems with the drive.

Can you install HP Library & Tape Tools and see if it discovers the drive successfully? If so, run the device connectivity test.

LTT does not need the tape driver (it uses the native NT miniport SCSI interface).

Re: LTO Ultrium-1 driver problem

Yaser,

That may imply something specific in the windows OS, or perhaps with the HBA.

I looked up the error on the MS site, but it provide little info other than recommending to update the driver.

What HBA do you have the drive attached to?

Not that I've had much success using it, but did you try the troubleshooting wizard in device manager mentioned in the MS support doc?
